Jizo Shrine
We have built this Jizo (Kshtigarbha Bodhisattva) shrine at the temple, next to the grove of poplar trees. The statue was a gift to the temple from Ruth Handy for the New Year. The rounded stones are a traditional offering, representing our human weaknesses; even though they are stones and therefore not valuable in the eyes of the world, as offerings to Jizo they become precious and are returned to us as compassionate wisdom.
