Pine Mountain Buddhist Temple
& Meditation Retreat

Daily Schedules

Winter 2009 Daily Schedule, Tuesday through Friday

The purpose of the temple schedule is to provide a daily structure that supports our meditation practice by letting us know what we can be doing when.  It fosters harmony in the Sangha by helping us to do things together and by giving us a framework in which we can practice the willingness to let go of our opinions about what we would like to do at a given time.  At Pine Mountain Temple the schedule is intended to be flexible and open to the needs of individuals.  If you need extra rest, just let one of the monks know; however, if you find that you have free time on your hands, recall to mind why you came here, and use that time to do extra sitting meditation, walking or quiet activity of some kind.

REGULAR WEEKEND RETREAT SCHEDULE

Every weekend we follow a retreat schedule from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. We encourage everyone, including those new to our practice, to come on Friday evening, making it possible to spend a whole day, Saturday, with your full attention on the training. A weekend retreat is the ideal way to receive instruction in meditation practice, learn how to cultivate mindfulness in daily activity, and hear the Dharma from the resident monks. For those who are committed lay practitioners, regularly dedicating a weekend to the practice brightens the mind. To attend a weekend retreat, please call the temple (254-241-6102), or email to arrange your visit.
